Die Industriemetalle konnten nur marginal vom besseren Einkaufsmanagerindex für das Verarbeitende Gewerbe in China profitieren. Weitere Daten aus China stützen hingegen die Preise.
Die Reaktion der Metallpreise auf die Zinssenkung fiel verhalten aus. Auf einen Anstieg der Preise unmittelbar nach der Zinssenkung folgte schon bald Ernüchterung und die Metalle gaben ihre Gewinne wieder ab.
Der Nickelpreis ist bislang in diesem Jahr um satte 31 Prozent eingebrochen und befindet sich nun auf dem Niveau von Ende 2008 bzw. Anfang 2009, dem Höhepunkt der weltweiten Finanz- und Wirtschaftskrise.
In China haben die Nickelbestände ein Sechs-Monatstief erreicht. Auf Sicht von sechs Wochen hat der Nickelpreis um 1.000 US-Dollar zugelegt.
Die Zuflüsse in LME-Lager sind nicht gestoppt, was nach Meinung der UniCredit-Analysten einen Marktüberschuss signalisiert.
