Rostock, July 15, 2025 – On August 8, 2025, the 14th Rostock Wind trade event will take place at the Scanhotels (formerly Radisson Blu) in the heart of the Hanseatic city of Rostock. Set against the maritime backdrop of the Hanse Sail, the event will once again bring together experts from the fields of technology, business, and politics to discuss the future of wind energy.

The event will be kicked off by Nina Scheer, Member of the German Bundestag and energy policy spokesperson for the SPD parliamentary group. She will then discuss the theme of “Wind energy as an employment driver” with Bärbel Heidebroek (President of the German Wind Energy Association), Ines Jesse (State Secretary in the Ministry of Economics, Infrastructure, Tourism, and Labor of the State of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania), Holger Fritsch (Managing Director of Bachmann Monitoring GmbH), and Dennis Rendschmidt (Managing Director of VDMA Power Systems) about the role of wind energy in the labor market. The panel discussion will be moderated by Wolfram Axthelm, Managing Director of the German Renewable Energy Federation and the German Wind Energy Association.

Afterwards, trends and developments in the wind energy industry will be discussed in four parallel specialist forums: “Planning,” “Financing,” “Technology,” and—brand new—“Recruiting.” The new recruiting forum will focus on the acute shortage of skilled workers in the industry. Representatives from the wind industry will exchange ideas with educational institutions and young professionals on the question of “How can the shortage of skilled workers be counteracted in a targeted manner?” The aim is to find innovative ways to ensure that the industry's demand for skilled workers can be met in the long term.

A wide range of topics will also be covered in the other specialist presentations: these range from project development, approval, and grid connections to investment incentives and operational management, as well as legal updates and digital tools. Industry experts and newcomers alike will find valuable inspiration for practical application.

As every year, the day ends in a special atmosphere: networking continues during an evening cruise on the Warnow with a buffet and live music – with a view of the sunset and the Baltic Sea as a backdrop.
