The data reveals where travellers booked the most, the fastest-growing destinations, and how travel habits evolved in 2024.

The North Sea coast claimed the top spot as the most-favoured destination in 2024, with over 1,75,000 inquiries. The Baltic Sea followed with over 1,25,000 inquiries, while Bavaria’s Upper Bavaria and Allgäu regions remained favourites for alpine getaways. Other notable mentions include the North Frisian Islands, which rounded out the top five destinations. These results reflect a strong preference for Germany’s coastal and mountain regions among travellers.

While well-known destinations remained popular, several lesser-explored regions showed remarkable growth. Poland’s Świnoujście led the pack with a 38% increase in bookings, followed by Germany’s Eckernförde Bay (+35%) and Italy’s Olbia-Tempio (+32%). Other fast-growing destinations included Spain’s Fuerteventura and Germany’s Potsdam Region, signalling a shift toward more unique travel experiences.

This year, travellers displayed a strong preference for early planning, with January 14, 2024, recorded as the most-inquired day. January also emerged as the busiest month overall, with over 1,42,000 inquiries, reflecting a trend of mapping out vacations early in the year. The year’s most unique travel moment was an extraordinary 684-day stay in Treptow, Berlin, starting in May 2024 and extending into 2026.
