LONGEVITY PARTNERS ACCELERATES INVESTMENT IN GERMANY WITH NEW MANAGING DIRECTOR
Munich, 15 January 2024 - Longevity Partners, the leading global independent climate and sustainability advisory firm, has strengthened its Munich team with the appointment of Onur Aydin as Managing Director, Germany.
This new appointment is a significant milestone in Longevity’s multi-year expansion plan in Germany. Approximately a third1 of real estate investments in the region flows towards buildings that are certified and it is anticipated that demand will increase further following the introduction of new EU reporting standards, effective from 1 January 2024, including the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).
Onur Aydin joins Longevity with extensive experience and an in-depth understanding of sustainable business practices. Aydin spent six years as Head of Asset Management Infrastructure & Areas at Munich Airport, where he specialised in real estate development and strategy as well as commercial mobility. In that role, he managed a real estate portfolio valued at approximately €400 million. Additionally, his responsibilities extended to overseeing the commercial mobility strategy of the airport, which encompassed renovation and new construction projects aimed at enhancing vital passenger facilities.
Prior to his tenure at Munich Airport, Aydin gained valuable leadership experience in real estate consulting at rheform GmbH, where he project-led a number of high-profile building development initiatives for residential and commercial buildings, especially with public contractors.
Aydin has a strong academic background in management, sustainability and architecture, holding Master's degrees in Management as well as in Energy Efficient and Sustainable Buildings from the Technical University of Munich. He also holds a Bachelor's degree in Architecture.
As Managing Director Germany at Longevity Partners, Aydin will lead the Munich office in overseeing strategic initiatives, compliance management support and the provision of sustainable value-adding solutions tailored to the unique needs of the German infrastructure and real estate investment markets. He will also play a pivotal role in the development and automation of the German building certification sector, incorporating efficiencies such as AI into reporting and certification, further strengthening the company's product offering for sustainability solutions.
Commenting on Aydin’s appointment, Etienne Cadestin, Founder and CEO at Longevity Partners, said, "Three year after the launch of our operations in Germany, we are thrilled to welcome Onur to lead our German operations. With his proven track record and expertise in real estate and infrastructure, we are confident that our German franchise will continue to excel, innovate, and respond to our clients’ needs to shape a more sustainable future. Our Munich team is going from strength to strength and I’m very excited about what the future holds here.
Aydin added: "I am excited to become a part of Longevity Partners’ global team during this pivotal phase of its regional expansion. My enthusiasm for sustainability and environmental advocacy aligns perfectly with the firm's mission to spearhead the global shift toward a low-carbon economy. Given Germany’s key role in sustainable development, I am eager to lead our team in delivering innovative solutions and inspiring our customers to drive sustainability in the real estate and financial services sectors across Europe.”
